This 6 jar Salt Spice Set is a step up from our 4 jar Gourmet Salt Sampler and gives you some classic salt blends in addition to our exotic collection of gourmet salts.
Your six selections:
Pacific Sea Smoked Salt – This fine grain, natural sea salt from the Pacific ocean is slow smoked over Northwest Red Alderwood resulting in an authentic, clean smoked flavor. No liquid smoke, artificial flavor or coloring is added. This process leaves no weird aftertaste and its smokiness brings a unique flavor to many dishes - especially popular with sushi.
Hawaiian Coarse Table Salt - Its deep pink color comes from the Alaea clay that is added during the harvesting process. This salt is composed of over 80 minerals and adds depth to dishes with its earthiness and we’ve found that the clay mellows the sharpness of the salt and adds great presentation with its wonderful color. You will find there is no aftertaste and it gives a gentle tingle.
South Australian Flake Salt - This is a beautiful apricot colored gourmet salt flake that is more delicate than fleur de sel – considered by many as the satin of salts. The flake possesses a wonderfully mild flavor and can be used for roasting and baking and in salt bowls on the table.
Mediterranean Cyprus Flake Salt - The first thing you will notice about this salt is its brightness. It is so white it appears to glow. It has large, beautiful crystals and has a delicate crunch. The crystals are actually hollow thin pyramids that break nicely and have a tendency to sit on top of food so you get a zingy salty taste.
Sel Gris - Sel Gris is also known as Celtic Salt or French Grey Salt and has become increasingly popular in the mainstream culinary world in the last few years, with many salt aficionados' believing that it is the best quality salt available. Its light grey color is a natural occurring process of the minerals being absorbed from the clay lining the salt ponds.
Fleur de Sel - Widely considered as the “caviar of salts”, Fleur de Sel translates to "flower of salt" and has been harvested in France's Guerande region since the seventh century. Favored by discriminating cooks, Fleur de Sel has a crystalline shape, rather than the more common flaky shape of other salts, that allows the salt to dissolve more slowly giving a full and balanced flavor to food.
