Southern Style Oven Baked Pulled Pork
1 4 to 5 lb trimmed Boston butt roast 1 large chopped onion 1 1/2 cups water 1 cup vinegar 1/2 cup ketchup 1/2 cup Worcestershire sauce 3 tablespoons brown sugar 2 tablespoon dry Yellow Mustard Seed Powder 1 teaspoon Sea Salt 1/4 teaspoon ground Red Pepper Flakes 1/4 teaspoon Cracked Black Pepper Directions: 1. Set oven to 325º F 2. Place roast in roasting pan 3. Combine all remaining ingredients in a medium bowl and stir to blend 4. Pour mixture over roast 5. Cover pan and place in oven and cook for 6 hours or until meat is very tender 6. Remove pan from oven and remover meat from pan 7. Let meat sit for 20 minutes 8. Place sauce in refrigerator until fat congeals 9. Skim fat and discard 10. Using 2 forks and fingers pull the meat from the bone 11. Add pulled pork back to the pan 12. Stir to mix sauce with meat cover and bake at 325F for 20 minutes 13. Serve on rolls or over rice or noodles Serves: 8 |
