Low Sodium Pork Roast with Applesauce
Sodium = 166 1 lb top loin boneless Pork roast 1/3 cup unsweetened applesauce 1 tablespoon packed brown sugar 2/3 teaspoon vinegar 1/3 teaspoon yellow mustard 1 pinch Ground Cloves 1/3 tbsp white all purpose flour Sea Salt to taste 1 pinch sugar 1 teaspoon Granulated Garlic Cracked Black Pepper to taste Directions: 1. Preheat oven 350º F 2. In a small bowl stir in applesauce, brown sugar, vinegar, mustard and ground cloves 3. Place 1 half of the applesauce mix into the refrigerator 4. Set aside the other half 5. In another bowl stir together flour, salt, sugar, garlic and pepper 6. Rub in the flour mix evenly over the pork 7. Place pork in a shallow roasting pan with a rack 8. Spread the applesauce that was set aside over the roast 9. Place in oven uncovered for 20 minutes per pound or it registers 140 F 10. Move roast to a platter, cover with foil and let stand 15 minutes 11. Boil refrigerated applesauce in a small pan for 1 minute 12. Spoon heated applesauce over pork slices Serves: 4 |
