This is our organic version of the southern French classic Herbs de Provence. This salt free seasoning is also known as French Herb(s), Provencal Herbs and is also sometimes spelled Herbs de Provance. It has been a central seasoning blend in daily cooking throughout France for hundreds of years. Indigenous to the southern region of Provence, this wonderfully delicate Mediterranean flavor is distinctive but not overpowering. It is widely used in a range of dishes – as a marinade, rub or sprinkled it on chicken, fish, meat and seafood. Add to fruit salads, stews, vegetable soups it also combines particularly well with sauces made from red wine or tomatoes. Herbs de Provence compliments a slew of vegetables but especially eggplant and zucchini. We also like to add it to cooked pasta with some olive oil and a dash of parmesan cheese. Hand blended from organic basil, rosemary, savory, tarragon, thyme and the unique ingredient of lavender flowers. Helpful hint – add early in the cooking process in order to allow the flavors to marry and you will also get the added benefit of its beautiful scent wafting throughout your kitchen.
