Low Sugar Brownies with Walnuts
3/4 cup white all purpose flour 1/2 teaspoon low sodium baking powder 1/2 teaspoon Sea Salt 3/4 cup Splenda® No Calorie Sweetener, granulated 1/3 cup sugar 3 eggs 1 tablespoon Vanilla Extract 1/4 cup Margarine, 80% fat, unsalted 1/4 cup semi sweet chocolate chips 2/3 cup Organic Cocoa Powder 1/4 cup butter substitute 1 teaspoon instant espresso powder (optional) 1/2 cup chopped walnuts , toasted Cooking spray Directions: 1. Preheat oven to 350º F 2. Using foil, line an 8 inch square baking pan and spray the foil with cooking spray 3. In a small bowl, whisk the flour, salt and baking powder 4. In a large bowl, whisk the sugar, sugar substitute, eggs and vanilla 5. In a medium microwave safe bowl, add the margarine and chips and heat until just melted, about 28-32 seconds 6. In this same bowl, mix in cocoa powder, espresso and butter substitute 7. Add the sugar mixture, then the flour mix and walnuts 8. Put the finished mix into the pan and bake 25-30 minutes or until a wooden toothpick test comes our with moist crumbs from the center of the pan 9. Cool for 10 minutes 10. Remove from pan and let them finish cooling Serves: 19 Prep Time: 15 minutes |
