Low Sodium Strip Steaks with Mushroom Sauce
2 strip steaks trimmed, about 5 ounces each Cooking oil spray 1/4 cup Thyme Leaf 1/2 cup Garlic Flakes 1 teaspoon salt free butter 1/4 teaspoon Rosemary Leaf 3 ounces button mushrooms 2 ounces shiitake mushrooms 1/4 cup whiskey or wine Directions: 1. Turn your grill on high 2. Lightly coat a grill rack or broil pan with cooking spray 3. Place 5 inches above the heat 4. Grill the steaks for 10 minutes on both sides 5. Remove steaks and place on a warmed plate and place in oven 6. Heat the butter in a medium heat sauce pan 7. Add garlic, thyme and mushrooms to the pan and saute for 2 minutes 8. Take pan off heat and slowly add the whiskey and stir for 1 minute 9. Spoon the sauce over the steaks Serves: 2 Prep Time: 20 minutes |
