Our Organic Granulated Garlic is imported from China and garlic has a rich history in almost every type of cuisine. Its popularity appears to be strongest in Central and South American, Chinese, Indian, Mediterranean, Mexican and Southeast Asian dishes. The French use it in a garlic mayonnaise called Aioli.
Some folks refer to Garlic as Garlic Herb and it was one of the earliest cultivated herbs. In the majority of recipes that are calling for Garlic (and not specifically for Garlic Cloves), granulated garlic is the one that they mean. It can also be substituted for fresh garlic in recipes where the flavor of garlic is needed but you do not necessarily need the texture. You can substitute one teaspoon of granulated garlic for one fresh garlic clove. In order to reach full flavor it takes approximately 20 minutes but you will be able to taste the garlic flavor in a much shorter amount of time.
Granulated garlic is more easily dispersed than flakes and provides more bulk and thickening than powdered garlic.
