Korintje Cinnamon Powder – Sourced from Indonesia, this is the most popular cinnamon we carry (including all the non-organic cinnamons) and is the type of cinnamon that American’s find most frequently in their own kitchens. The Korintje (or thick quill cinnamon) is the higher quality of the several types of cassia cinnamon available. Our Organic Korintje Cinnamon is rated at Grade A with 3% cinnamon oil content.
Pure Vanilla Bean Powder – Our raw gourmet vanilla bean powder is a game changing alternative to pure vanilla extract. Once you’ve tried it you’ll find yourself substituting it for extracts in more and more recipes. You’ll get powerful vanilla flavor without adding any additional liquid to your recipe. Vanilla connoisseurs’ know that a top quality vanilla powder will "age" much like a fine wine, and many people who are using premium grade vanilla powders are surprised at how it improves with time.
Nutmeg Powder – Ground Nutmeg is a classic baking spice and works exceptionally well with cakes, cookies, fruit pies, muffins and in sweet breads. Use as a topping for custard, eggnog and whipped cream.
Ginger Root Powder – This Powdered Ginger that we carry is from China and has light, lemon pepper aura and the taste is sultry, intense and sharp. Ground ginger is a key ingredient in many breads, cakes and pastries.
Allspice – Aptly named, allspice has a pleasantly warm and fragrant aroma of cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg (with a hint of pepper). While the name conjures up a seasoning blend it is actually an individual spice. Allspice is one of just three tropical spices native to the Western Hemisphere (the other two are the chili pepper and vanilla). Allspice partners well with chili powder, cloves, coriander, garlic, ginger, dry mustard powder and pepper.
Saigon Cinnamon – Native to Vietnam this cassia is known as Saigon Cinnamon or Vietnamese Cinnamon. The cinnamon oil content of our Saigon Cinnamon Powder is very high at 5% which makes the flavor outstanding and leads many cinnamon aficionados to call this particular variety the best you can get.
Poppy Seed - You will enjoy the lightly nutty and sweet aroma while the taste is almost almond-like. In the west we delight in the flavor and delicate crunch of these blue-black seeds on breads, muffins and pretzels as well as with buttered egg noodles and fruit salad dressings.
Lemon Peel – Using lemon peel (also called lemon zest) will save you time in cooking when the recipe calls for lemon zest. Traditionally this was most frequently called for in baking recipes. Our lemon peel is highly concentrated so only substitute 1/3 the amount of grated lemon peel for any recipe that calls for fresh lemon zest.
Arrowroot Powder – Our pure Arrowroot Powder makes a wonderful base for cream sauces, gravies, clear glazes and pie fillings. Because it doesn’t lose its thickening abilities (like flour does) it is an excellent choice for thickening acidic fruits.
Granulated Honey – A top quality Granulated Honey is not easy to find. Known as the world's oldest known sweetener, honey is one of the few foods that will never spoil. Granulated Honey is often used to sweeten drinks, baked goods, and marinades in place of conventional sugar.
