Split Pea Soup

6 cups water
2 cups split peas
1 medium onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, pressed or crushed
2 carrots, sliced or diced
2 stalks celery, sliced
1 potato, peeled and diced
1/2 teaspoon Marjoram Leaf

1/2 teaspoon Sweet Basil

1/4 teaspoon Ground Cumin

1/4 teaspoon Ground Black Pepper Coarse Grind

Sea Salt
to taste

Directions:
1.  Rinse and sort the split peas, place them in a large pot with all the remaining ingredients except salt
2.  Bring to a simmer.
3.  Then cover loosely and cook until the peas are tender, about 1 hour.
4.  Add salt to taste
