Organic Granulated Onions are ideal when you’re looking for onion flavor but not the typical fresh onion texture. We like to keep these dehydrated onions on hand as a helpful time saver and the quality is so good your family and guests will never know you took a couple of short cuts. Our Organic Granulated Onions are grown in Mexico.
Onion granules are easier to measure than Onion Flakes, they’re much less hassle to work with and don’t cake like Onion Powder. Use granulated onions in place of onion powder when your recipe calls for more thickness and bulk. Granulated onions are frequently used in spice blends, packaged meats, canned and frozen foods. While granules can be added directly to most recipes, we recommend that you rehydrate them before adding to dishes that don't have sufficient amounts of liquid in them. To rehydrate granulated onions - place them in a small bowl and add just enough water to cover them then let them sit for about 15 minutes. Drain off the excess water or you can mix with just enough cool water to make a smooth paste which can then be adding to the dish towards the end of cooking. You can also substitute 1 Tablespoon of granulated onion for 1 /2 cup of minced onion. We also carry Certified Organic Onion Powder and Certified Organic Onion Flakes.
