The literal translation for Ras El Hanout is “top of the shop” and this Moroccan style curry with a kick is like all curries in that it can be made with a wide variety of ingredients depending on the cook. Some home chefs refer to this as Moroccan Seasoning and there have been some recipes versions that have had as many as 100 various spices added to them.

Our Ras El Hanout is hand blended from nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger, salt, allspice, black pepper, cardamom, turmeric and saffron.

We also carry a full line of Curry Powders to suit just about every taste.  Use to season rice, chicken, couscous, vegetables and as a spice rub for lamb chops on the grill.

Some of our favorite recipes using Ras El Hanout are Moroccan Chicken with Sweet Potatoes, Moroccan Lamb Curry and Ras El Hanout Chicken.

If you like seasonings from this region you may also be interested in Berbere, Peri Peri Seasoning and Garam Masala.

This was surprisingly good! I added it to a butternut squash soup and it came out great. The only other seasoning it needed was a little bit of salt. Lowest effort soup ever!

I just made the Moroccan chicken with sweet potatoes (recipe link above) and was blown away. It was SO wonderful, thanks to this excellent spice blend. I don't like olives, so I cut them out but dinner was great tonight!
