This is another of our "Limited Edition Spice Sets" and was created by Erin P., from Girdwood, Alaska. Erin's spice set is a superb selection giving a hint of some of the amazing flavors from across the globe.
Turn your kitchen from the ordinary to the extraordinary as you experience taste sensations from South America, Morocco, the US, India, Spain and Africa. These spice blends can be used to seasoning, chicken, beef, pork, rice and vegetable dishes.
Here are Erin's 6 selections:
Adobo Lime Rub - a delicious south of the border seasoning blend that has the delicious citrus sensation that can only be provided by lime zest. This is one of our favorites for the grill or to bake and it has a little bit of peppery flavor without being spicy hot.
Ras El Hanout - The literal translation for Ras El Hanout is “top of the shop” and this Moroccan style curry with a kick is like all curries in that it can be made with a wide variety of ingredients depending on the cook. Some home chefs refer to this as Moroccan Seasoning and use it to season rice, chicken, couscous, vegetables and as a spice rub for lamb chops on the grill.
Berbere - From the horn of Africa comes the delightful seasoning blend known as Berbere which is considered the culinary foundation of the Ethiopian cuisine. The prominent spices in Berbere are centered around the heat of pepper – cayenne, paprika, chili flakes and black pepper (in some variation). While it does pack some spiciness it is more flavorful than crazy hot.
Maharajah Curry - This is our superior grade curry powder and many of our customers consider this to be the best curry powder with its gorgeous, full-bodied taste and just a little goes a long way. This curry is a bit sweet but not considered hot and is ideal for adding magnificent color and unmatched flavor to seafood and chicken curries.
Paella Seasoning - this is typically used to season rice and this seasoning, with a long Spanish heritage, has also gained great popularity in the Hispanic hubs throughout the US.
Peri Peri Seasoning - Piri Piri is Swahili for pepper-pepper, and this seasoning is also referred to as Peri Peri. There are many family versions of this spice blend with the most popular coming from Africa, Brazil and Portugal. Perfect for using as a hot spicy rub on beef, chicken, fish or pork for a blast of flavor or lightly sprinkle on shrimp
