This is without a doubt one of the hottest dried peppers that you will come across! Our Habanero flakes are perfect for those seeking some extra heat and these can easily be added to a shaker for best results. Some of our customers also refer to these as crushed Habanero or Habanero pepper flakes.

There is some debate as to where the Habanero is indigenous to – some chile pepper experts believe that they hail from the Amazon region of South America and others believe they are from the Yucatan Peninsula.

Today the Yucatan region is the leading producer of Habanero chile peppers but these are also grown to a lesser extent in California, Texas and Costa Rica. The average size of a Habanero is 1” -2 ½” and 1”-2” in diameter and they come in a wide range of colors –red, pink, orange, white and chocolate – depending on the variety. The Habanero chile comes in at 10 on the heat scale (on a scale of 1-10 with ten being the hottest)! In addition to our easy to use Habanero flakes we also carry Dried Habanero Chilies and a Habanero powder.

What a perfect way to add BIG heat to pizza, chili, or meats or vegetables after cooking. Be careful, use sparingly! I don't need those liquid, vinegary hot sauces anymore - this is a great blessing for those of us who are hot addicts.
