Ancho Chile Powder – one of our best sellers, Ancho Chile Powder comes in at 3-4 on the heat scale of 10. Considered by many to be the most popular of all the chiles, they have a deep, reddish brown to black color with a mild fruity flavor with a hint of plum, raisin, tobacco and a slight earthiness.
Pasilla Powder – these may not be as widely recognized as the first two chile peppers in this set, our Pasilla Powder comes in at a 6-7 on the heat scale of 10. When ground into a powder it possesses a deep red color, the taste is pungent but with a rich flavor and herb like undertones that is sophisticated and long-lasting. Often used in authentic Mexican soups, stews and moles.
New Mexico Chile Powder –this is the mildest chile powder in the set, our New Mexico Chile Powder comes in at 2-3 on the heat scale of 10.
