Southwest Seasoned Chicken Pizza

Friday night is pizza night at our house and we always look forward to the end of the week and this is one of our favorite pizza recipes. This homemade pizza recipe is perfect when you're in the mood for some subtle Southwestern seasoning. Our Salt Free Southwestern Seasoning has plenty of spicy flavor without being overly hot.

I am adding a link to a whole wheat pizza dough recipe that I make easily in the food processor. You can use whatever dough you prefer, just note that the nutritional information is based on the whole wheat pizza dough (thin crust version).

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 tablespoons Salt Free Southwest Seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 8 oz skinless, boneless chicken breasts, cut into small pieces
  • 1/2 diced small white onion
  • 1/2 diced red bell pepper
  • 1 diced jalapeno pepper
  • 2 ounces sliced mushrooms
  • 1 12 inch homemade pizza crust
  • 3/4 cup salt free tomato sauce
  • 1 cup low salt shredded mozzarella cheese

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400° F
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet
  3. Add chicken, peppers, mushrooms and southwest seasoning
  4. Cook 5-6 minutes on med to high until chicken is cooked throughout
  5. Set aside
  6. Spread tomato sauce evenly over pizza crust
  7. Spoon chicken and vegetable mixture on top of sauce
  8. Sprinkle with cheese
  9. Bake for 16-20 minutes or until crispy and golden
