Today I am 47 years old. On one hand, that kinda freaks me out, but on the other, I feel like I am holding up pretty good for 47.
My Mother-in-Law brought me the cupcakes yesterday. I cannot remember the last time someone made me cupcakes. Chocolate on chocolate – YUM!
I have been in a little bit of a cardio slump since missing the 5K in April. Work has been stressful, and getting up early to workout has been a struggle recently. I have been feeling quite sluggish lately. No big deal, just need to adjust so as to get back on track.
One good thing is that I am planning a trip to Texas (home) in July! I am very excited about seeing family and friends! Of course, that also means I am counting down the days and want to look my best when I go. Then, when I return, I have another 5K the first week of August.
I needed some downtime from my regular routine, but now I am ready to step it up again and move forward. You really have to know when to listen to your body and taking a break can be a good thing, as long as it is just a break and you get back to it quickly.
I am building up my running again – this morning was 2.25 miles in 30 minutes. It was really more of a combination walk/run – fine – more walking than running! Wednesday, I would like to try spinning again. I liked it, the problem is that the class time doesn”t exactly fit my workout time – I am going to try to fit it in. I haven”t missed any workouts with Ben, so that part of my routine remains consistent.
So – here we go another year older and still feeling good about me and my life!
